Trivia about us =)

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 21, 2012, 4:42 PM
A list of trivia about the group and the dynamic between us (because I wanted to mark our stockaversary with an info journal, and I writing about yourself is hard, so the next profile isn't ready yet :XD:) If and when this gets updated, it's worth checking out again, because I'm pretty sure it will grow when I think of more info ;)

Group trivia
:bulletblue: We all have (to varying degrees) a phobia against talking on the phone. (Direct chat is better, but still a little too close for comfort.)
:bulletblue: We all love to read, with Lizzie in the lead (due to lifelong enthusiasm and an avid consumption of audio books), Kat a seasoned general who has been reading books since before she started school, and Zuno an eager newcomer who was dragged into the world of books a few years ago by the two others. (On the other hand, Lizzie had to be dragged kicking and screaming into manga, which she was certain she wouldn't like, by the two others.)
Our collective favourite genre is fantasy, with crime a good second for Lizzie and Kat and sci-fi the runner up for Zuno. The same goes for TV shows.
:bulletblue: Lizzie and Kat hate spending money (although they both have their weak points that they can't resist buying), while Zuno should be kept under constant supervision to keep her from bankrupting herself entirely.
:bulletblue: Lizzie and Zuno's favourite colour is blue, while Kat's is red. This might somehow be connected to the fact that Zuno and Lizzie love water with a passion, while Kat has an eerie fascination with fire… ^^;
:bulletblue: We all have "fursonas" (animal alter egos) in Toyger's story, :iconkingdomofcats:. Zunos is ShadowCat kocplz.deviantart.com/art/Shad…, Lizzie's is Loria kocplz.deviantart.com/art/Lori… (twin daughters of the alpha couple), and Kat's is Fuega kocplz.deviantart.com/art/Fueg… (their cousin, and daughter of the beta couple). Lizzie and Zuno have theirs as their avatar, and the three kittens in our avatar represent these three.
:bulletblue: Lizzie and Kat nearly didn't become friends because Kat said during their first conversation that she thought Harry would die, and Lizzie did not want to hear that. (They still can't agree who was right :XD:)
:bulletblue: Lizzie and Kat were declared a perfect friend match nearly six months before they met, by future classmates, and once they started lower secondary, the teachers did their best to ensure they became friends. Lizzie took this as an insult, and (after preliminary attempts at friendship from Kat's side failed miserably) did her best not to become friends, but relented when she realized that not only did Kat share her passion for reading, they had the same taste in books, and this was golden chance to discuss books she had never had the opportunity to talk about with anyone before.
:bulletblue: Zuno and Lizzie are second cousins, but didn't meet until Lizzie was 13 and Zuno was 20.
:bulletblue: Due to our devotion to pop (and less pop) culture, shared sense of humor and frequent interactions, we have developed a *lot* of short hands from many different places (some, we don't even know where we found :XD:). Exclamations like "Perkele!" or "Pudding!" will be understood perfectly by the entire group, while other people in the conversation will be left going :O_o:, and use of the phrase "Whatever!" *will* be followed by the singing of "And a prince for, whatever" and "She's, like, so whatever, and you could do so much better".
:bulletblue: We all love a band named Kaizer's Orchestra, a local band consisting of former farmers who sing in our local dialect, have obscure lyrics (that still tell a story) and play on empty oil barrels. Despite (or maybe because of) this, they are epically awesome and internationally known (especially in Germany, for some reason or other). They've become even more popular lately, which Lizzie is a little distressed about because she does not like to love "cool" things :XD:
:bulletblue: We all know at least some jujitsu (which is a Japanese form of hand-to-hand combat). Kat took classes when she was younger, then gave it up for horseback riding. About a year and a half ago, she and her father started again, and Lizzie, intrigued, went with them. Lizzie then convinced Zuno to go with them (it did not take a lot of effort) because she wanted Zuno and Kat to get to know each other better. Kat dropped out after a while because it was too straining, but Lizzie and Zuno stayed on, and since they got a ride to the dojo by Kat's father, and Kat usually came along to watch, this meant spending around seven hours together twice a week. Needless to say, Lizzie's plan worked ;)
:bulletblue: We all have our favourite roles that we prefer playing. Lizzie likes being the princess because she loves princessy dresses and outfits, likes trying to look pretty and has a slight case of damsel-in-distress syndrome (which means she's into guys (and people in general) being protective and being saved :blushes:). Zuno likes to be the prince/hero because playing a man suits her better, both when it comes to clothing, mannerisms and personality. Zuno is a gay man trapped in a woman's body. Kat likes to play the villainess because she enjoys wearing black, looking haughty and arrogant, and to play the sadist. It's a chance for her to express that part of her personality and play into her dominatrix tendencies.
:bulletblue: When shooting, our jobs are generally divided like this: Lizzie makes up a story, we dress up with whatever we have (we share as much as we can, depending on the characters. Some of our frequently used outfits, like the capes, were sown specially by Kat), Kat sets up her camera (we all work together to try to get the angles and zoom right). Then we do the shoot (if we're all in the shot, we use a timer, which sometimes means that we end up with what we call "random poses", where the story is over but the timer isn't, and we just do random, funny stuff which the pictures left =P If one of us is not in the shoot, that person usually takes the photos). After that, we transfer the pictures to Lizzie and/or Zuno's computer. Lizzie puts the shoots in folders, based on how pleased we are (worst are uploaded first, best are saved for later). Then, when the time comes, she crops the pictures, uploads them in Stash and types up the description. Then Zuno takes over. She writes the keywords and copy-pastes descriptions, titles and keywords, then publishes all of our super long shoots. And then the process starts all over again ;)
:bulletblue: In response to DecadenceChivalry; The bare feet is something we do becuase we noticed that our watchers responded to it. We don't really share your interest, but we don't mind giving you what you want =) The shooting, stabbing, strangling etc., that's because we all share morbid fascination with the macabre and tragic (so long as it's fictional), and playing dead is downright fun =P If you look at our first two Witches of Alviaria shoots, before any watchers had come along, they *both* ended with both characters dying (one killing the other, then killing herself). So that's something that's been with us since the start, not only because it's a natural element in the stories Lizzie makes, but because we think they're fun to do :stab: (The fact that our watchers seem to love it is just a huge bonus ;))
:bulletblue: Despite being close friends (actually, they're pretty much each others next best friend, after Lizzie), Zuno and Kat hardly have any contact unless Lizzie instigates it. This is largely because they were friends with Lizzie first and she is the glue of the group, but also because she is usually the one who has to suggest hanging out with either of them separately as well =P
:bulletblue: Before starting to make stock together, Lizze and Zuno had a project going where they fandubbed Disney songs in many different languages, most of which they didn't know. The project is still open, even though they have become more perfectonistic, and as such are not happy with current recordings, so they haven't uploaded in a while. Things might pick up soon, though =) If you're intrested, here is the

Awww, thankies :smooch:
Of course princesses have to learn hand-to-hand combat these days. Back in the good old days, they learned to fence and fight with weapons, but if you walk around with a sword in the streets these days, it makes people nervous :XD: So we've got to settle for using what we have available :ninja: (We do have a jujitsu shoot of me and Zuno just grappling with each other on the ground, but we're saving it for after we've uploaded all the shoots that are less good. Tights, bare feet and girlfight, should go down well ;))

Haha, very true! ;)

Really fun, cute and fascinating stuff... the dynamic between the 3 of you is really original and unique! :-) I have a question if I may... a lot of your shoots feature stories that include death scenes, playing dead, characters being shot, stabbed, strangled and general coming to a 'sticky end' etc. (yay I love it all!!! ;-) ) ... is this trait something that the 3 of you share and love and that you wanted to express together on DA? Or is it something that you have found the watchers of DA have particularly responded too, so it has inspired you to create these type of scenarios? Thank you!

Hehe, I'm glad you enjoyed reading it =) I feel that the three of us have something very special together too, that's why I wanted to say somethin about the dynamic between us, not just each person individually. And it was a way of giving you some "fun facts", that were also really entertaining for me to think up :aww:
Your question has been answered in the journal ;)

Thanks so much for your reply (and wow I'm actually part of your journal now, what an honour! :-) ) I am soooo happy that it is not only myself and my own friends who enjoy the whole morbid fantasies/playing dead scenarios, so invigorating!

Perkele? That reminds me of Finland from Scandinavia and the World actually! ^v^

Also, love the story of how you two almost didn't become friends, haha. It's adorable really. And me, I'll just tag along and comment on allll the journal updates if you don't mind?

Congratulations, Hawkie! You actually get one of our shorthands ;)

Yeah, well, when your classmates say "We met this girl at open day at lower secondary who is weird and gets angry for no reason. You guys are, like, perfect for each other", that doesn't exactly make me go "Yay! I want to meet this person!" :XD: Still, I wanted to make friends with a quiet, lonely girl in my class (also on suggestion of a teacher), who then turned out to have been friends with Kat for years. So eventually, I just had to give in to fate ;)

Sure, feel free =) Comments make me feel that my writing work is appreciated (or, at the very least, read ;P), so just go ahead and comment =^_^=

Scandinavia and the world is /awesome/, I read through the entire thing sooo quickly when I found it. Also, pudding. I've never understood WHY it became this ... thing (not heard you say it, but I've other friends who basically love that word) but it cracks me up :D

:giggle: I can see that, then! Well, glad it worked out for everyone :>

And I like to comment on things. I think the three of you are coolcats, and like to talk annd be around you, even if we 1) haven't done so often and 2) I can be a floof and not really seem like I fit in anywhere =P No matter though, I think we get along, just need to get to know Zuno a bit more :)

Also, writing in Norwegian is difficult. My vocabulary died. I'm trying to write something to prove to *Athero that I actually can do it but I'm struggling so much =P Got any book recommendations for me by Norwegian authors? I prefer the fantasy genre, and the... any other random thing - but eh, I heard that the fantasy genre in Norway is rather lacking sadly..

Completely agree, SaTW is epic! I actually think Finland and sister Finland are my favourites (except the Norway/Demark bromance, of course ;))

As for puddin, that's a triple threat, actually. It usually goes Kat says "Pudding", Zuno says "Flobba flobba flobba", I say "Crazy works" (although usually in the wrong order). It's from the TV series Supernatural, from an episode where the main characters infiltrated a loony bin. When they were caught snooping, Dean yelled "Pudding!", pulled his pants down and bounced (the "flobba flobba" is a joke on the sound effect used for certian... extremities bouncing around :XD:), then turned to his brother and muttered "Crazy works" as an explanation =P Also, pudding ia cute word ;)

Don't sell yourself short =P We've hung out lots of times (especially you and me, in KK and English class ;)) and we enjoy spending time with you :aww: Besides, you may be a floof who doesn't fit in with people, but so are we :XD: Your brand of weird might not be exactly the same as ours, but it's close enough, and you fit in way better with us than "normal people" *shudders*

Haha, now that is a problem :XD: You're quite right, Norwegian fantasy is not en par with most other fantasy (the best Scandinavian fantasy I can think of is Danish; Lene Kåberbøl. Her books are excellent (they're the books that brought me and Kat together), but only translated to Norwegian in Nynorsk =P). I'm trying to do something about this glaring lack of quality Norwegian fantasy, but I have some work ahead of me still *glares at tons of book that still needs revision* Of the current Norwegian fantasy books, I actually have to reccomend Margit Sandemo, even though her books are classified as "kiosk litteratur" (and written in Sweedish, but she is from Norway). I *love* her writing, and she is one of my favourite authors. I especially reccomend De svarte ridderne, it's pretty short for her (12 books, but they're paperbacks and not that tick, and they're quick to read), it takes place in Norway and it's very interesting and fun to read (it's also centered around Spain and Spanish history, which might be doubly fun for you :aww:). Other than that, there's... nope, honestly can't think of any more :XD: Though not stricktly fantasy, and based around philosophy, Kabalmysteriet is a great book (I stayed up all night to finish it =P) and it's much easier to follow than Sofies valg is, and and it does have some fantasy elements, in that a shipwrecked guy has his deck of cards come to life and make their own society on an island in the middle of nowhere, and the main character reads the story with a magnifying glass from a tiny book he found inside of a bun ;P I think that's pretty much what I can reccomend. Other than that, there are off course good translations of fantasy books too =)
